Vanakkam,
Tamil Nadu has been a pioneer state in organic farming in India. In the past, due to the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides, people have started to realize the problems such as environmental damage to land, water, air, climate change and health problems through the food we eat.
'Chemical Free Food is our fundamental right' - Nammalvar Ayya worked till his last breath to make people aware of the importance of food and the need for a healthy environment for biodiversity. While he was travelling all over Tamil Nadu and mobilising farmers, his demise in 2013 sparked a revival of nature-based activities among organic farmers, environmental activists and the general public.
In this situation, after continuous efforts for the past one year, 'Tamilnadu lyarkai Uzhavar Kootiyakkam (TNIUK)' was formed by pioneers and young farmers, organizations, environmental activists and social activists who have been traveling in the field of organic farming for many years.
The first event of the movement is the "Tamilnadu Organic Farmers Food Safety Conference" to be held on 15th and 16th February 2025 at the Tex Valley Complex, Chittod Bypass, Erode District.
We cordially invite you, the farmers and consumers, to participate and provide all your support to make the conference a grand success.
